the result of two journal

hello! this is my last blog which tell about journal because next weel I get long weekand dan now I would like tell about  the result of both journal that I tell you last week.

first journal used the story completion methods and Student responses indicate that the application of story completion methods can improve students' speaking abilities. The method used in speaking activities can make students very interesting. Because it is applied directly in real life, especially in speaking activities in class. Using this method, there are benefits such as stories that promote feelings of well-being and relaxation, increasing students' willingness to
communicate thoughts and feelings, encourage active participation, increase verbal skills, encourage the use of imagination and creativity. In addition, this method increases students' ability to tell stories in speaking activities. Therefore the story resolution method contributes to facilitate students in expressing ideas in speaking activities.

comparison of 2 journals

Hello Readers! the blog I made before which is about journal and today I would like to tell about journal again but I would like to make defferences between two journal. The first journal is "DEVELOPING STUDENTS’ SPEAKING ABILITY THROUGH STORY COMPLETION" and second journal is "THE EASIEST GRAMMAR UNDERSTANDING TO DEVELOP THE STUDENT'S ENGLISH SPEAKING SKILL" 

first journal write by Waode hamsia (2018) talking about "Firstly the teacher arranged the lesson plan that contained the steps in teaching and learning process in the classroom. The lesson plan contained and explained the purpose of lesson, indicator, method of learning process, matter of lesson, steps of learning activities and assessment.Before starting the lesson the teacher gave ice breaker, like a game about asking questions to make the students relaxed and understand whether they had focused or not. In the while teaching activity, before introduced and explained about story completion technique in teaching English by using topic that has been determined. The teacher reviewed the material about describe of people first.Then the teacher explained the material of descriptive text, the teacher trained the students to practice speaking using Story Completion in groups."

second journalwrite by Tarmizi rasul & Imam suseno (2018) talking about "The objective of this study was to compare a new method called Oral questioning in L1 and Guidance (OQILAG) with the conventional one. First, to examine whether the OQILAG method was really effective to improve the students’ English speaking skills. Second, to see how significant the OQILAG method to improve the students’ English speaking skills of Jakarta Selatan Jagakarsa Cipedak Muhammadiyah junior high school. The Finding of this study showed that the difference of the average scores between the first test and the second one or after the OQILAG method had been implemented."




  • from the two journals they have several differences. first, the first journal applies one method while the second journal applies two different methods. second, the first journal emphasizes how to make learning more enjoyable and the development of students' speaking abilities through storytelling. the second journal emphasizes the comparison between two medotes which are good for use in learning English. third, the first journal emphasizes that students are more courageous to speak in public. the second journal emphasizes that students are more concerned with grammar

Based on observations made by researchers, twenty students practiced speaking in groups. Evidently the enthusiasm of students in speaking activities by using story solving to solve problems. First the teacher arranges a lesson plan that contains the steps in the teaching and learning process in the classroom. The lesson plan contains and explains the lesson objectives, indicators, learning process methods, lesson questions, steps for learning and assessment activities.
opportunity to respond deeply to the story and experience changes in their beliefs and attitudes. This then leads to a more active role in teaching speaking skills. The purpose of this method is to arouse imagination, provide a context for introducing new languages, and create compelling reasons to listen. Therefore this method is an effective way to explore students' ideas to develop oral language skills from a second language in the classroom. Completion of stories has a long, important role in describing a story.

DEVELOPING STUDENTS’ SPEAKING ABILITY THROUGH STORY COMPLETION

I would like to continue about methodology of journal that I review the subjects of the research were a teacher and 20 students who are in the first semester. The students which are not from English program joined an English club in university of muhammadiyah Surabaya. The data were taken from observation, interview, and questioner. The observation was conducted to obtain the data to answer the problems about how are the technique and implementation of speaking ability through story completion. The interview guidelines and questioner consisted of ten questions for students to answer the problems about how the implementation and the effect of using story completion for students in their speaking skill. Therefore the researcher would know the reasons to use of story completion.

Based on the observation that was done by the researcher, twenty students practiced their speaking in group. DEVELOPING STUDENTS’ SPEAKING ABILITY THROUGH STORY COMPLETION



Hello guys! Welcome back to my blog. Now, I want recommend you to read a good journal the tittle is “DEVELOPING STUDENTS’ SPEAKING ABILITY THROUGH STORY COMPLETION” the journal talking about speaking skill method.




The reason why I choose this journal because, speaking is my weakness and when I am to be a teacher I don’t want my student have same weakness with me. So, that’s why I choose this journal. I'll tell the introduction of this journal


The journal tell about speaking skill method through story completion. The author tell that a lot of students have difficulty to speak English just because they don’t have confidence, the students are not given the opportunity to express their English speaking skills, and students are not interested in speak English, to make students interested to speak English that is by applying fun and not boring learning methods can also make students active in learning English, especially to speak English.

 Story Completion is very enjoyable in free speaking activity where students sit in a circle (Kayi, 2006). There are three objectives of the research were to describe: (1) To describe the implementation of story completion in teaching speaking. (2) To describe the improvement of speaking skill for students after being given story completion. (3) To describe the students’ response to the implementation of story completion.


The result showed that the technique of story completion was successfully implemented to improve the students’ speaking skill. The technique can make students to encourage themselves to speak up. They have to be brave and have enough self-confident when they want to talk something.
